ABOUT STITCH & RIVET:

Stitch & Rivet is an American Made bag and leather goods studio located in Washington DC.

About Our Products: Many of our leathers and vegan-friendly waxed canvases come from American finishers, American tanneries, and salvage warehouses. We have put our efforts into eliminating waste by using every remnant possible and paying careful attention to layout and design. Unused remnants are donated to school groups, scout troops, or bundled and sold to local artists just starting out during our annual scrap sale. This means you can feel good knowing we respect the materials we use and the communities that produce those supplies.

About Our Team: Stitch & Rivet is made up of hard-working artisans and associates. Read a little more about each of us below.

Katie, Owner, Designer, Master Craftsperson- Originally from Orlando, Florida. Before opening Stitch & Rivet she had such varied jobs as parade dancer, ice rink referee, hat maker, and nanny.  Katie no longer paints entire sheets of paper pink, and instead has a collection of drawings on napkins by award winning costume designers from her former career in theatre.

Leise, Customer Service- Originally from Vermont, making her a Vermonter (this is an important distinction). Leise didn't have a name until 2 weeks after birth, and her siblings helped name her which is why she has the German word for 'quiet' as a name. Her dog, Eleanore is often at the shop with her on weekends. Leise still loves baby ducks.
